Job Description:
- A visually impaired Assistant General Counsel is seeking an assistant/paralegal to join the Legal Department. This position is ideal for candidates who have interest in learning and working within a financial firm's Legal and Compliance group. This role will provide the right candidate the experience in a corporate, legal setting.
- This position will require heavy reading assistance consisting of reading documents aloud, editing agreements and other memoranda, typing and creating documents, legal research, and work organization and management. Responsibilities will also include traditional administrative tasks such as calendar management, phones, and data base maintenance.
- The ideal candidate will have an interest in pursuing a legal career and whose educational background was focused on writing and research. The candidate must have an exceptional attention to detail and precision in writing and document creation.
- The candidate must have an excellent command of Microsoft Office and the ability to create and manage red-line documents. A successful candidate will have the temperament to work well under pressure in a demanding business environment.

Responsibilities:
- Heavy reading assistance
- Assisting with editing and creating documents
- Tracking status of matters and metrics
- Maintaining relevant databases
- Basic administrative support tasks
- Ad hoc projects as needed
Qualifications:
- Strong Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) experience
- Experience working in corporate legal department, law firm, financial services, consulting, technology firm or related industry
- Must have excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, exceptional verbal communication and listening skills
- Knowledge of legal customs and practices
- Project administration skills
- Knowledge and understanding of the financial services industry
