About the Role:

As the Environmental Compliance Director, you will oversee the company's compliance with all federal, state, and local environmental regulations. You will manage subject matter experts in Enterprise Environmental Compliance and collaborate with various departments, including Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Pharmacy, to ensure regulatory compliance across the Kroger Enterprise. Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor the environmental compliance team.
• Serve as a resource to environmental compliance managers across business units and regions.
• Oversee and coordinate environmental compliance efforts for the entire Enterprise.
• Manage the corporate Business Resilience/Business Continuity team.
• Identify and address compliance gaps at all company locations.
• Stay current on environmental regulations and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies.
• Act as the primary representative with regulatory agencies.
• Develop and implement consistent policies and procedures.
• Manage third-party environmental consultants and service providers.
• Ensure auditing and adherence to environmental compliance.
• Implement best practices for record-keeping and improve accessibility of records.
• Respond to compliance violations, assist with investigations, and oversee remediation efforts.
• Provide regular reports on compliance efforts to senior executives.
• Travel independently up to 30%.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of broad environmental compliance experience.
• Environmental Management experience.
• Knowledge of business resilience principles.
• Strong leadership and motivational skills.
• Critical thinking and independent decision-making abilities.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills.
• Experience in Retail, Manufacturing, Fuel, and Transportation industries.
• Experience with environmental agencies and compliance software solutions.
