Summary:

The General Manager will oversee all aspects of linen processing operations, including product quality, distribution, supply chain, engineering, customer service, and employee development. Ensuring timely and high-quality service to customers is a top priority. This role requires a strong focus on safety, team development, process optimization, and operational efficiency.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster a collaborative team environment and serve as a leader within the organization.
  • Clearly communicate new policies, directives, and procedures to management and frontline employees, ensuring smooth transitions and high morale.
  • Represent the company professionally to customers, employees, industry partners, and the community.
  • Lead talent management efforts, including recruitment, coaching, and development of staff through clear goals, team meetings, and performance evaluations.
  • Oversee the integration of operations, engineering, technology, and customer service to enhance workflow and efficiency.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, ensuring service excellence and satisfaction.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance customer experience through improved operational strategies.
  • Analyze business procedures, identify areas for improvement, and implement best practices.
  • Optimize production planning, workflow, and equipment utilization for maximum efficiency.
  • Establish and monitor performance metrics to evaluate operational effectiveness and drive improvements.
  • Manage budgets and cost controls to achieve financial objectives, with a focus on continuous cost reduction.
  • Ensure all processes align with safety standards and regulatory compliance.
  • Research and implement new technologies, methodologies, and best practices to enhance quality and efficiency.
  • Support sales initiatives through operational excellence.
  • Perform other duties as needed to support the success of the business.


Qualifications & Skills:

  • Strong understanding of business operations, finance, and performance management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams and drive operational improvements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant business software.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to represent the company professionally in external engagements.
  • 10+ years of experience in operations management, preferably in the linen rental or similar industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field.


Lean Manufacturing & Process Improvement Expertise:

  • 5S Methodology: Implementing organization and cleanliness standards to enhance efficiency.
  • Kaizen & Continuous Improvement: Driving ongoing operational enhancements through incremental changes.
  • Kanban & Just-in-Time (JIT) Systems: Managing inventory and production flow effectively.
  • Value Stream Mapping (VSM): Identifying and eliminating inefficiencies in processes.
  • Theory of Constraints: Recognizing and addressing bottlenecks to optimize productivity.
  • SMED (Single-Minute Exchange of Die): Reducing changeover times to improve flexibility.


Performance Metrics:

  • Operational Efficiency: Machine utilization, downtime reduction, and throughput optimization.
  • Quality Control: Defect rates, customer complaints, and compliance with service standards.
  • Financial Performance: Cost per unit, ROI on equipment investments, and profit margins.
  • Customer Service: On-time delivery rate and customer satisfaction scores.
  • Employee Engagement: Retention rates and training hours invested in workforce development.
