DAY TO DAY
This role is responsible for developing, executing, and maintaining demand forecasts for online sales, store fulfillment centers, storm recover, and promotions. The Demand Planners will create and implement forecast models and business intelligence while maintaining forecast over 52 weeks and monitor performance weekly. The planners will support the business for rolling out new products. These roles will be expected to collaborate with members of the organization to integrate sales forecasting and replenishment of products for the tools and power equipment division of supply chain.
MUST HAVE
- Forecasting/planning experience
- 4-6+ years of supply chain or merchandising experience
- Strong experience dealing with high volume sales (will be dealing with 3-4 billion dollars of inventory)
- Dynamic and analytical
- Corporate side not distribution
- BA degree in Supply Chain, Merchandising, Logistics, Business Operations, Business Management, Engineering, Statistics, or related field
- Do NOT want to see demand planners from manufacturing, specifically inventory manufacturing, or from an operational/logistics background
PLUS
- PM or forecasting tools such as Blue Yonder or Relex
- Mathematical or Finance background / Analytical skills
- Planning experience
- Experience with "hard lines" meaning equipment, tools, or anything that needs additional packing for shipping safely
- Retail background preferred
- Buyer experience - working with vendors and merchants
- Previous work experience from Walmart, Target, ACE, Tractor Supply, Home Depot, etc.
- Previous work with a fortune 100 or 50 company
Responsibilities:
- Support business for rolling out new products
- Work with merchant partners, replenishment teams, and stakeholders
- Address any demand issues in a timely manner
- Manage forecasting by utilizing demand planning tools and report error and areas with high volatility
- Maintain forecast throughout the year with weekly performance monitoring
- Forecasting for online sales, fulfillment centers, storm recovery, and promotions
- Analyze historical demand, clean outliers, identify appropriate forecasting, develop plan, propose improvements, and incorporate demand signals into forecasting
- Provide documentation of forecast changed, growth rates, promotions, and distribution changes
- Be on bench to be promoted to a manager role
