Position: Investment Analyst

Our client, a fundamental long/short equity hedge fund based in Manhattan, New York is seeking an Investment Analyst for their Darien, CT office. The firms investment approach is long-term oriented and focused on conducting deep fundamental research on global equities.

Please note - this is a hybrid role with a 2-3 day per week in-office requirement in the firm's Darien, CT office.

You will:

• Work on investments in the consumer, industrial and/or TMT sectors alongside the portfolio manager and other team members to identify, research and make investment recommendations
• Analyze company and industry trends based on quantitative metrics and qualitative primary research to help generate long and short investment ideas
• Perform detailed financial analyses, maintain a constructive management dialogue, and articulate investment theses and sizing/trading recommendations internally
• Conduct deep fundamental research using a broad array of sources (company/analyst/expert calls, proprietary and third-party data, etc.)
• Synthesize and present research findings to the portfolio manager and team

Ideal candidate will have:

• 5-7 years of total finance industry experience including investment banking and/or buyside experience
• 3+ years of Hedge Fund Analyst experience
• An independent thinker who can bring a different perspective on investment opportunities and have an immediate impact on the portfolio
• Deep understanding of fundamental accounting and finance concepts from prior work experience and/or undergraduate degree
