Job Title: Compensation Specialist
Location: Hybrid - Stafford, VA (2 days onsite)
Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Compensation Specialist to join our team. This role will be responsible for analyzing, designing, and administering our compensation programs to ensure they are competitive, equitable, and aligned with our business objectives. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of compensation principles, practices, and regulations, and will be able to provide valuable insights and recommendations to support our talent management strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive compensation analyses, including job evaluations, market benchmarking, and salary surveys.
- Develop and implement compensation strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Provide guidance on compensation-related matters, such as base pay, incentives, equity programs, and executive compensation.
- Collaborate with HR teams and business leaders to develop and update job descriptions and salary structures.
- Prepare and present compensation-related reports and recommendations to clients.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to compensation.
- Participate in compensation-related projects, such as mergers and acquisitions or organizational restructuring.
- Support the implementation and administration of compensation programs, including merit increase cycles and incentive plans.
- Provide expertise and guidance on compensation-related technology solutions and tools.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Compensation Specialist or Consultant, preferably at a senior level.
- Strong knowledge of compensation principles, practices, and regulations.
- Proficiency in data analysis and statistical techniques.
- Excellent understanding of market benchmarking methodologies and survey participation.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and other compensation-related software tools.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with integrity.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or similar are a plus.
