SUMMARY
The Continuous improvement Intern – Supply Chain will support inventory optimization, raw material planning, Order timing replenishment and material flow management initiatives on the production floor. Under supervision, this role contributes to minimizing inventory variance, ensuring efficient raw material planning, and improving operational processes. This position provides exposure to supply chain and manufacturing environments and enhances professional development in the field of supply chain management.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with monitoring inventory levels and identifying opportunities for optimization.
- Support raw material planning processes and collaborate with procurement teams.
- Contribute to improving material flow from receiving to production areas.
- Analyze inventory data to identify and resolve variances.
- Assist in implementing and sustaining FIFO and inventory management practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align supply chain activities with production schedules.
- Lead in process improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Prepare reports and presentations to support decision-making and communicate progress.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Eagerness to learn and contribute to a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Basic knowledge of inventory management and raw material planning principles.
- Time Study – Ordering Timing & Lot Sizing
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems is a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Enthusiasm for applying Lean and Six Sigma principles.
REQUIRED TRAINING:
- Onboarding and orientation training.
- Safety protocols and compliance training.
- Role-specific training related to inventory management and material flow processes.
- Lean and Six Sigma fundamentals training (optional, based on availability).
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Work is primarily performed in an office and light industrial environment.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds occasionally.
- Exposure to light industrial conditions, including some non-toxic dust and temperature variations.
