ROLE OVERVIEW


On a day-to-day basis:

Oversee the support & monitoring functions for PPC’s core operational workflow systems, including but limited to ‘Flex’, ‘Smartsheet’, ‘AiR’ and ‘Flex:ALT’ infrastructure. The Flex environment utilizes various systems, services, and software to create a seamless post-production workflow within PPC. Work closely with the business’ stakeholders such as Producers, Account Managers, Production users, Schedulers, and Data IO to ensure this smooth and efficient process is achieved.


On a project-basis:

Continual development work; bug-fixes, new features and collaborating with the technical teams to deploy important updates. Plays a key role in maintaining and supporting services that underpin PPC’s Post-Production workflows. Engaging with third-party development teams, acting as a key point of contact to help plan, test and deploy key projects.


MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES


Support:

  • Provide platform support to Dalet Flex and other integrated platforms to users.
  • Diagnosing, resolving, or escalating issues across the system efficiently.

Training:

  • Lead onboarding new users and delivering training sessions.
  • Deputize for the Media Operations Manager training ‘Super Users’ to identify, troubleshoot, and pro-actively resolve technical issues, ensuring effective platform usage.

Organisation:

  • Maintaining and updating documentation of systems, configurations, and procedures.
  • Keeping relevant technical documentation, user guides, and support materials for use between other administrators and general users.

Testing:

  • Conduct tests and evaluations of systems to ensure functionality, efficiency, and security.
  • Testing new, innovative technologies and help to validate through to project and deployment in live environment.


SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Ability to clearly communicate technical details to non-technical stakeholders, especially when dealing with producers, editors, and technical teams.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with various teams and stakeholders through active listening and openness to feedback and new ideas.
  • A self-starter, with a problem-solving mindset, the ability to work independently, as well as in a team is essential.
  • Capability to systematically analyse and diagnose platform, workflow, or software-based issues with a calm demeanour, even in high-pressure situations.
  • Demonstrated and applied knowledge working with tools, systems, and processes that support media production and delivery, such as:
  • Some programming and data structure knowledge, for example in Python, Groovy, JSON, SQL
  • Strong understanding of digital video and audio formats, codecs, framerates, FFMPEG, etc.
  • Project and ticket management e.g. Jira, Front, Smartsheet.
  • Knowledge of network fundamentals VLANs, VPN, DNS.
  • Proactive in acquiring new skills, exploring emerging technologies, and adapting to evolving workflows and systems.
  • Experience in a technically led Post-Production environment, as well as exposure to wider business operations.

This position is based in our LA head office and the salary rate for this role is up to $55,000 per annum. Actual amounts will vary based on the candidates’ skills, experience, and performance. Please note that this is a non exempt position.
