Fundamentally-Driven Long/Short Equity Renewables Energy Analyst



Location: Miami, FL (Potential for NYC)


Description:

South Florida Search Partners LLC seeks a highly motivated Long/Short Equity Analyst to cover the Renewable Energy (Power Generation), Electrified Industrial & HVAC, and Grid Modernization & Transmission sectors. The ideal candidate will have a fundamentally-driven investment approach , strong analytical skills, and the ability to generate differentiated long and short investment ideas in the renewables and electrification space.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth fundamental research and financial modeling on companies in the renewable energy, electrified industrial, and grid modernization sectors .
  • Develop and present long/short investment ideas to the Portfolio Manager, supported by rigorous valuation analysis, industry research, and company-specific insights .
  • Maintain financial models, earnings forecasts, and scenario analyses .
  • Track industry trends, regulatory changes, and macroeconomic factors affecting the electrification and renewable energy markets .
  • Engage with company management teams, sell-side analysts, and industry experts .
  • Assist in portfolio construction, risk management, and position sizing discussions


Portfolio Strategy:

  • The strategy is not factor-neutral, but factor-aware .
  • AEO (Asset Exposure Optimization) is relatively low at this juncture .
  • The portfolio will be structured to be 10% net long/short .


Qualifications:

  • 2-4 years of relevant industry experience from a larger platform hedge fund, single-manager fund, industry consulting firm, or research provider with exposure to renewable energy, industrial electrification, and grid modernization .
  • Strong financial modeling and valuation skills with expertise in DCF, public comps, precedent transactions, and scenario analysis .
  • Proven ability to generate differentiated long/short ideas and articulate investment theses clearly.
  • Understanding of the policy, technological, and market forces shaping the renewables and electrification industries.
  • Highly analytical with a detail-oriented and independent work style , capable of handling multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • CFA, MBA, or engineering background in energy-related fields is a plus but not required.
