The Richmond Group USA is leading a search for an Operations Supervisor (Fleet Manager) on behalf of a fast-growing company that is revolutionizing road safety with its innovative services. This company operates a specialized fleet that provides critical pavement and road condition data to transportation authorities, helping reduce roadway crashes and save lives.

About the Role

The Operations Supervisor (Fleet Manager) will play a key role in ensuring the efficiency, safety, and reliability of the company’s fleet and field operations. This individual will be responsible for managing a team of drivers, overseeing route planning, and ensuring seamless operations while maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fleet & Personnel Management – Hire, train, and manage a team of drivers, ensuring operational efficiency and a strong safety culture.
  • Route Planning & Logistics – Oversee strategic route planning for optimal field operations, ensuring timely data collection and project completion.
  • Hands-On Leadership – Bring an entrepreneurial, “do whatever it takes” attitude to problem-solving and be available outside of traditional work hours to support field teams when challenges arise.
  • Training & CDL Knowledge – Conduct hands-on training for new drivers on specialized equipment; a CDL B license is preferred or a willingness to obtain one.
  • Mechanical & Technical Support – Work with overseas tech support to troubleshoot fleet issues and assist with on-the-ground repairs.
  • Regulatory Compliance – Ensure all vehicles and drivers meet safety and regulatory requirements.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience managing fleet operations and leading teams of drivers
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail-oriented with a process-driven approach to operations management
  • Hands-on, “do whatever it takes” attitude with a willingness to be on-call as needed. Some mechanical aptitude or ability is a plus
  • CDL B license or willingness to obtain one to help with driver training on specialized trucks
  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Project Management certifications are a plus
  • BS degree in Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field is a plus

This is a high-impact role that requires a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced, operational environment. If you are passionate about fleet operations and want to be part of a company making a real difference in road safety, we want to hear from you!
