Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Identify, assess, and implement cost-saving initiatives related to process improvements, including waste reduction, cycle-time reduction, cost-effective raw material sourcing, process scaling, and shelf life enhancements.
  • Investigate and implement solutions to improve cycle time, such as reducing batch processing time, increasing continuous process throughput, minimizing pre/post-batch cleanout durations, and enhancing overall quality to support capacity generation.
  • Lead efforts in energy conservation and sustainability improvements within the facility.
  • Collaborate closely with Operations and Central Engineering teams to meet shared goals and objectives.
  • Manage workload balance within the team, providing backup support as needed for process improvement and engineering teams.
  • Assist with new business assessments and the implementation of new technologies by evaluating methods, equipment, and processes required for manufacturing new products, including cost feasibility, capital requirements, and initial pricing.
  • Support process engineering-related inquiries and customer visits as required, including occasional travel.
  • Provide accurate and timely updates on project status, with monthly written reports on assignments.
  • Offer guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and co-ops, ensuring their professional development.
  • Contribute to the Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and Management of Change (MOC) processes, providing training and written guidelines as necessary.
  • Coordinate activities with contractors to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Foster effective communication across all departments to ensure seamless collaboration and achievement of team goals.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in chemical engineering or process improvement.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to present information clearly in front of small groups.
