Position: Quality Control Engineer
Location: San Antonio Airport
Work schedule: M-F, 6 am-3:30
Must Haves:
- Quality Control experience in pavement construction – Must fit in one of the below requirements:
- Professional Engineer (P.E) with 1 year of airport paving experience
- Engineer in Training (E.I.T) with 2 years of airport paving experience
- National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) Civil Engineering Technology Level IV with 3 years of airport paving experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology or Construction with 4 years of airport paving experience
Day-to-Day:
An employer in San Antonio is looking for a Quality Control Engineer to join their team! Their day to day responsibilities will include –
- Morning Briefings and Planning:
- Daily Stand-Up Meetings: Attend and lead daily stand-up meetings with the project team to discuss progress, challenges, and quality control issues.
- Review Daily Schedules: Review and update daily schedules and work plans to ensure alignment with quality standards and project timelines.
- Site Inspections and Audits:
- Conduct Inspections: Perform regular site inspections to monitor construction activities and ensure compliance with quality standards and safety regulations.
- Audit Documentation: Review and audit documentation related to materials, equipment, and construction processes to verify adherence to project specifications.
- Quality Control Testing:
- Coordinate Testing: Coordinate and oversee quality control testing of materials and construction work, including concrete, steel, and other critical components.
- Analyze Results: Analyze test results and prepare reports to identify any deviations from quality standards.
- Issue Resolution:
- Identify Issues: Identify and document any quality control issues or non-conformances observed during inspections and testing.
- Implement Corrective Actions: Work with the project team to develop and implement corrective actions to address quality issues and prevent recurrence.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain Records: Maintain comprehensive records of all quality control activities, including inspection reports, test results, and corrective actions.
- Prepare Reports: Prepare and submit regular quality control reports to project management and stakeholders, highlighting key findings and recommendations.
- Stakeholder Communication:
- Liaise with Stakeholders: Communicate with project stakeholders, including contractors, engineers, and regulatory agencies, to ensure alignment on quality standards and requirements.
- Provide Updates: Provide regular updates on quality control activities and progress to project management and stakeholders.
