Clutch is looking for an experienced Principal with a background in Data Engineering for a consultancy client of ours.

Job Summary:

You will have full responsibility for the direction and performance of data engineering teams, overseeing the delivery of cutting-edge data solutions to our clients. You'll define and execute our end-to-end data engineering strategy, encompassing cloud migration and transformation initiatives, data architecture design, and platform development. This position demands deep technical expertise, exceptional leadership capabilities, and a track record of successfully managing complex projects and cultivating strong client relationships.

Job Responsibilities:

• Define and implement the overarching data engineering strategy, including cloud adoption and modernization, data architecture, and platform engineering.

• Manage the financial performance (P&L) of our data engineering practice, overseeing budgets of approximately $10 million, ensuring cost-effective resource allocation and on-time project completion.

• Lead and mentor large, cross-functional teams (50+ members), optimizing resource deployment across global projects to maximize team performance and utilization.

• Drive new business development, managing a portfolio of data engineering projects ranging from $2M to $10M+, identifying expansion opportunities, and collaborating closely with C-level executives at client organizations.

• Design and implement cloud-based data platforms and data pipelines.

• Direct large-scale data migrations, transitioning clients from legacy systems to modern, cloud-based architectures to achieve operational efficiencies.

• Partner with engineering, IT, and business stakeholders to design and implement data platforms that effectively address both technical and business requirements.

Required Qualifications:

• 15+ years of experience in data engineering, including at least 5+ years in a senior leadership capacity, managing large-scale, intricate data projects within the pharmaceutical industry.

• Demonstrated success in managing P&L for data engineering projects exceeding $10M and overseeing substantial project portfolios.

• Expertise in pharmaceutical commercial analytics, syndicated data (e.g., Claims, Retail Sales, Specialty Pharmacy, Omnichannel), and experience collaborating with engineering teams.

• Experience working for top-tier consulting firms or large, Fortune 500 (or equivalent) companies.

• Strong networking skills and a results-driven mindset, with a focus on acquiring new clients and building relationships with senior client leadership.

• Proven ability to develop and mentor high-performing, cross-functional, and diverse teams.

• Comfort navigating ambiguity and change, with the ability to translate business needs into actionable analytics problems, define appropriate analytical approaches, deliver impactful insights, and guide the implementation of recommendations.

• Exceptional ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and internal teams, even within complex and sensitive environments.
