Job Description:
Technical modeling and simulation in regards to mechanical robustness and thermal performance of advanced energy storage systems
Close collaboration with battery system and mechanical design engineers
Provide CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) and thermal simulations
Execute FEA simulations to validate battery design concepts regarding mechanical robustness
Engineering documentation
MS in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or relevant
Thermal & mechanical modeling and simulation skills.
3+ yearsFEA and CFD simulation, specifically experience with ANSYS and StarCCM+ tools
OE Automotive/Tier 1 systems/assemblies
Fluency in English
3+ years thermal materials
3+ years CAD (SolidWorks)
FEA experience for crash, crush, mechanical shock and vibration analysis desirable
Experience with Li-Ion battery systems thermal management and mechanical design
The expected salary range for this position is between $85,000 to $90,000 annually. The actual salary may vary based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant Skills/Experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business line, and geographic/ office location.
