Job Description

Our client, a rapidly growing manufacturer in the electronics industry, is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Quality Engineer to join their team on a direct hire basis! In this impactful role, you’ll ensure top-notch product quality, tackle challenges with SOPs and CAPAs, and collaborate directly with customers and cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement. Compensation: $70,000 - $90,000

Type: Direct Hire

Shift: 7:00am – 4:00pm

Location: Rochester, NY

Key Responsibilities:

Quality Management: Ensure product quality from raw materials to finished goods by defining, documenting, and enforcing quality control procedures.

Process Improvement: Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPAs) for defects; gather, analyze, and report manufacturing and quality metrics to identify areas for improvement.

Continuous Improvement: Spearhead initiatives such as 6S, Kaizen, Lean Six Sigma, and other quality improvement programs to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and increase efficiency.

Documentation: Develop, update, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and compliance across manufacturing operations.

Training & Development: Develop and deliver training programs to certify production and support staff on skills needed to manufacture industrial control panels and other products.

Customer Engagement: Work directly with customer engineering and purchasing teams to ensure quality post-delivery support and resolve any quality-related concerns.

Engineering Support: Review and create electrical and mechanical technical documentation, ensuring alignment with production processes and engineering specifications.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience with manufacturing quality systems, particularly in electrical or mechanical products.
  • Experience in writing and managing SOPs, CAPAs, and other quality documentation.
  • Strong data collection and analysis skills with a focus on process improvement.
  • Expertise in leading root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions using problem-solving methodologies like DMAIC or FMEA.
  • Proficient in interpreting electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, bills of materials, and product specifications.
