The Quoting Engineer will provide technical assistance as needed on new and legacy assemblies; this may include local customer visits as needed. Work with Quoting team on new business to accurately review and understand customer requirements. Be a key person in helping to develop estimators and filling in skill set gaps. Develop manufacturing processes by reviewing customer documentation and provide technical insight both internally and to customers as needed. Develop drawing updates, provide work instructions, assist with labor estimates, and determine equipment and component needs. Fix technical issues as needed.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Component part creation
• BOM Creation & drawing review
• Component discovery and cross to equivalents.
• Loading & verifying BOMs into Quote workbook/Quote Module
• Labor cost estimation and review
• Review of re-quotes for labor and labor variance along with any special instructions
• Contract Review of Customer drawings, Specifications and manufacturing methods
• Review New Quotes/Assemblies for required equipment (crimp tooling, over molds, test mates, etc.)
• Research & develop best practice manufacturing processes.
• Stay knowledgeable about new materials and processes related to business.
• Determine proper tooling and equipment necessary to perform each assembly process.
COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS
• Ability to work with hand tools, inspection and measuring equipment without limitations.
• Proficient computer skills
• Speak and Read English
• Strong understanding of Metrology and Arithmetic
• Familiarity with industry standards
• Fully abide by ISC policies and procedures
• Must be able to motivate and work well with people.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s degree or industry experience with associate degree.
• 3+ years of working in a contract manufacturing setting preferred.
• Ability to read assembly drawings and electrical schematics required
• ERP experience required.
• 3+ years of experience within the custom cable manufacturing industry preferred
