We are seeking a motivated and experienced design engineer to join our Tenpoint team in Mogadore, Ohio. The primary purpose of this position is to lead engineering projects related to the design, manufacture, and improvement of crossbow components and related consumer goods by applying fundamental and advanced Mechanical Engineering theories and principles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Apply Mechanical Engineering principles to contribute to designing, prototyping, testing, pre-production, production tooling, product implementation, and quality control phases of a specific part or product design cycle. Design crossbows and crossbow related components using SolidWorks.
- Conduct studies on engineering proposals to develop the design of components and assemblies and associated assembly equipment and machines, for crossbows and crossbow related components. This includes advanced component and assembly Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and advanced mold flow with minimal guidance from the Director or Senior Design Engineer.
- Perform production part, drawing and assembly revisions using the documented ECN process. Play a key role in the data management process including higher level Enterprise Document Management system functions (SolidWorks).
- Assist in establishing and maintaining dimensional analysis documentation for each part using Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD& T). Perform stack-up dimensional analysis on new and existing assemblies.
- Manage projects from design through production launch which includes close interaction with the Quality and Procurement teams.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering required.
- Certified SolidWorks Expert CSWE preferred.
- Certified SolidWorks Simulation Professional (CSWP-S) preferred.
Experience and Skill Requirements:
- Minimum five (6) years of experience in product design, manufacturing engineering, and/or project management.
- Computer skills: Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Outlook required.
- Thorough knowledge of SolidWorks required.
- Advanced knowledge of machining practices, injection molding equipment, product design, dimensioning, tolerancing, and inspection tools preferred.
