Job Description
Warehouse Team Member - Inventory
Do you have that great attention to detail? The kind it takes to protect millions of dollars of finished goods assets. Torani is seeking a detail focused Inventory team member to join our team to help establish top level inventory control practices with our internal partners.
As part of the inventory team, you will conduct finished goods, and raw material counts to ensure storage locations are accurate. You are the type of team member that gets thrilled when numbers "tie out" and has a passion to improve upon existing practices. As you grow in the role, you will take part in root cause analysis and be empowered to support the implementation of continuous improvement projects. You are willing to support core warehouse work processes such as receiving, picking, shipping and custom packaging. You understand the flow of Torani products from the raw materials consumption into the production line all the way to the customer receiving finished goods product. From receiving off the production line to filling customer shipments, you will understand the necessary transactions that make it all happen seamlessly and accurately. You are the go-to person to investigate, verify, and resolve inventory discrepancies. You enjoy working collaboratively with your fellow team members and take great pride in the effective inventory practices you have deployed within our entire flavor factory and warehouse.
SUCCESS FACTORS (12-18 MONTHS):
  • Inventory Discrepancy Blood Hound: Warehouse inventory is moving FAST! You will need to understand how we move items throughout the warehouse physically and systematically utilizing the existing warehouse operating system. Understanding the concept of oldest inventory ships out first; (first-expired-first out=FEFO, first in first out for raw materials FIFO) is your cornerstone philosophy. To keep the "freshest" warehouse possible, you will monitor and identify short shelf life, expired, and slow-moving inventory to reduce product loss. You will take ownership of mock recalls and product withdrawals, with the ability to systematically follow identified product lot codes and transactions. To monitor the performance of these activities, you will learn to track and report inventory metrics. You will be the first level of support when Inventory questions arise!
  • Standards and Training: You can provide "the Why behind the What" when training team members on proper inventory operating procedures, and you always check and verify for understanding. You are comfortable in presenting training materials and have the required patience to ensure the message is received effectively.
  • Crazy for Counting: The more we count and train the better we get. Therefore, you will maintain the cycle count schedule that monitors the health of lot/item/location integrity and prioritize the issues causing inventory discrepancies. You will identify and investigate all inventory discrepancies and perform root cause analysis. You will play a vital role in physical inventory preparation via the cycle count program and the accurate execution of all processes.
  • Safety/Food Safety: The warehouse is OUR house. As a team member, you help ensure compliance with OSHA requirements, internal safety regulations and maintain a safe, clean work environment. You will be part of a team that owns a zone of responsibility as well as the completion of a corresponding daily checklist. By playing your part, you will become proficient in the company's GMP and Food Safety policies to ensure we remain consistent with the safety directives of the company. Not only do you have a safety first mindset, but you are also comfortable in keeping your fellow team members safe as well. All safety hazards are reported and or fixed immediately.
