Job Description

Jemsek Specialty Clinic is nationally recognized and growing. We're looking for a compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our collaborative team. We're a team of providers dedicated to giving exceptional and holistic care to our patients who suffer from Lyme Disease.

You'll be responsible for providing high-quality care to our patients, focusing on treating and managing their complex health conditions. 

Comfortable providing treatment, patient and family education, and support both with in-person clinic patient visits as well as telehealth consults.

Patience, problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate effectively are key.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform Comprehensive Assessments: Conduct thorough patient evaluations and develop individualized care plans tailored to each patient's needs.
  • Prescribe Medications and Treatments: Utilize your expertise and medical critical thinking to prescribe appropriate medications and monitor patient responses to tailored treatments.
  • Provide Patient Education: Educate patients on health maintenance, and management strategies to empower them to take control of their health.
  • Collaborate with the Medical Team: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the highest quality of patient care.
  • Maintain Accurate Records: Keep attention to detail and be meticulous with patient records and documentation to ensure continuity in quality of care. Must complete records by recording patient examination, treatment, and test results.
  • Participate in Quality Improvement: Engage in initiatives to enhance clinical outcomes and patient experience.
  • Stay Current in Healthcare: Commit to continuous education and stay updated with the latest developments in the healthcare field.
  • Demonstrate Empathy and Communication : Build strong relationships with patients through empathetic and effective communication.

Requirements and qualifications:

  • Degree in Nursing (required)
  • Active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the District of Columbia (required)
  • Experience in IV infusions (desirable)
  • Certification in a specialized area of practice is a plus
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
  • Proficiency in using electronic health records systems 

Skills

  • Proven experience as Nurse Practitioner in a clinic, hospital, ER or similar settings
  • Knowledge of health and patient care regulations (HIPAA)
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Team spirit with a go-getter attitude
  • Strong clinical and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Excellent problem-solving skills to address patient needs and emergencies promptly
