NP Psychiatry opening in Woonsocket, RIFull Time, Permanent PositionProvidence 15m Position Overview The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Fellow will deliver psychiatric care to assigned patients under supervised clinical preceptorship, with the goal of independently managing a patient panel by the conclusion of the first fellowship year. This position combines clinical practice, educational development, and participation in structured fellowship programming to support the fellows growth into a competent and autonomous Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. The fellow will operate within the scope of psychiatric nurse practitioner training, adhering to Thundermist Health Centers guidelines, policies, and fellowship objectives. Required Qualifications - Successful completion of MS , MSN , or DNP program . - Active licensure in Rhode Island as RN, APRN, and CSR. - ANCC or AANP Board Certification in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) prior to August of the cohort year . - Current and active DEA license . - Current and active BLS certification . - Completion of ongoing CEUs to update skills and meet licensure requirements. Preferred Qualifications - Bilingual capacity in a second language. - Applicants without all preferred qualifications are still encouraged to apply. Key Responsibilities Clinical - Provide psychiatric patient care, including history-taking, anticipatory guidance, and behavioral health education. - Manage acute and chronic illnesses. - Maintain complete and accurate patient records. - Be accountable for the care provided to assigned patients. - Obtain Suboxone Waiver Training, Certification, and practice under supervision. Administrative - Participate in the initial 4-6 week orientation period. - Attend weekly fellowship debriefs and didactic sessions . - Engage in intermittent departmental and team meetings . - Complete a weekly reflective journal . - Fulfill responsibilities specific to each year of the fellowship program. Physical Effort and Work Environment - Duties are performed onsite at Thundermist locations. - Moderate physical activity, including walking, standing, and stooping. - Potential exposure to biohazards and infectious diseases, requiring adherence to universal precautions. - Manual dexterity needed for performing certain medical procedures. - Clinical environments include ambulatory-based settings and home-based care.
