Responsibilities include delivering the highest standard of care in the diagnosis and management of a respective population and participating in the implementation of patient education and clinical support programs to ensure optimal care throughout the healthcare continuum. The ideal candidate must be a team player, excellent communicator, proactive, and must also possess the ability to manage time and stress effectively as it pertains to patient care settings.Job Duties:Follows established guidelines which provide medical authority when such are indicated in providingPerform complete physical exams and assessments of patients including urgent, emergent and non-urgentSelect, order and perform tests and procedures to augment physicalDefine/document differential diagnoses and list differential diagnoses with most likely diagnosesDocuments orders in the EMR (Docutap)system for tests, procedures and the implementation and management of therapies in accordance with medical nursingPerform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as deemed necessary and appropriate for the plan of care, in collaboration with supervising managerOversees directs and supports on-site laboratory, x-rays, and injections, helps if neededInterpret data and diagnostic results for an appropriate course of action including but not limited to blood work, radiology, EKG, in collaboration with supervising physician.Perform such procedures as incision and drainage of abscesses, simple orthopedic splinting, pelvic exams and suturing of skin lacerationsNotate findings and treatment course in patient chart including follow-up notes.Required to work 1-2 holidays a year with availability days, evenings, and weekends to rotate at both locationsRequired Qualifications and Skills:2-3 YEARS EXPERIENCE IN URGENT CARE, ER or PRIMARY CARE2 YEARS of MEDICAL OFFICE or EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT EXPERIENCESUTURING (actively suturing 2 plus years)Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Master’s degreeMust be licensed in the State of Louisiana as FNPMust have current APRN license in the State of Louisiana.Skilled in traditional nursing disciplines of patient assessmentBLS/ACLS/PALS certification
