FM Industries - Senior Business Manager, NEW role & Opportunity

DESCRIPTION:

The Sr Business Manager overseas day-to-day operations for a critical FMI customer. This manager will develop, implement a variety of strategies to maximize operational efficiency & customer satisfaction while maintaining world-class quality performance. This role will provide oversight and guidance to team members, follow up on projects assigned to staff, and interact with the customer on key initiatives strategically. This person will report to the Customer Supply Chain Director.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Perform activities by understanding customer needs, analyzing data, and recommending data-driven solutions that benefit both the company and our customers. Willingness to understand customer forecasts and drive internal programs to best prepare for changes in demand.
  • Work effectively as a liaison between internal teams in multiple locations to ensure high-priority customer needs are being met.
  • Own quarterly business reviews with the customer to strategize on clear business goals, timelines, priorities, and metrics of success.
  • Serve as the primary point of escalation for critical customer issues.
  • Identify challenges, provide relevant information, action plans to both internal & external customers.
  • Organize plant reviews to discuss capacity, materials, and resources based on customer orders and forecast.
  • Drive the development of detailed, achievable production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements and best utilize the company’s productive capacity.
  • Grow to be second and third tier escalation contact by gaining customer trust.
  • Produce Gantt Charts and sequence of events reports at customer request.
  • Partner with FMI Directors to provide streamlined data for different organization’s success.
  • Comply with applicable environmental, health, and safety laws and regulations, Company policy, and accepted safe work practices.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.


EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 10-15 years of management /manufacturing/planning experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Semiconductor industry experience preferred.
  • OEM product experience preferred.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask to work efficiently in a fast-paced self-directed environment.
  • Experience of working in an environment where quick decisions need to be made and has organizational skills to effectively plan, organize, and set priorities across the teams.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to reach situations with a strong sense of urgency. Works hands-on, getting involved in the process where needed to ensure the delivery target is met.
  • Can maintain a relationship of trust with customers’ Engineering Team (Technical Program Managers, Materials Program Manager), Business Managers, and Strategic Commodity Managers.
  • Must be reliable and have excellent attendance.

  • Sitting for extended periods of time
  • Occasionally standing and walking

  • Use hands to finger, handle or feel objects or controls, reach with hands and arms
  • Lifting and/or moving items up to 15 pounds.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT OF THE JOB:

  • Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles
  • Low noise level
  • Normal office environment
  • The employee will be required to use personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent exposure to hazardous materials commonly used in a manufacturing environment (i.e., safety glasses and shoes, gloves, ear plugs/covers, mask, cleanroom suit) while in the production area.
