Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Nationally Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting the pharmacy operations as the first contact for both referral sources and patients. Your expertise in medication preparation and patient service will ensure that our patients receive the highest quality of care. The ideal candidate will have at least two years experience as a CPhT, demonstrate excellent oral & written communication skills while having experience with complex, specialty disease states.
Responsibilities
- Primary responsibility is to assist the pharmacist coordinating the adjudication of specialty medication from intake and preparation of prescriptions, through handoff for delivery in accordance with the departmental SOPs, local, state and federal regulations.
- Intake and preparation of prescriptions and process referrals through to completion.
- Tracks refills & schedules accordingly.
- Coordinates all required paperwork/labs and documents in compliance with departmental policies and procedures.
- Monitors & verifies all Average Wholesale Prices/Costs are accurate to ensure optimum reimbursement is obtained.
- Upholds all established policies and procedures and the highest ethical standards.
Experience
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of Certified Pharmacy Technician through PTCB or equivalent and applicable CPE's needed to keep certification in good standing.
- Highly motivated team player with a positive attitude and the ability to self-direct and prioritize.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, Teams).
- Team-oriented mentality and be able to communicate effectively and work in a fast-paced pharmacy environment.
