Job Summary:
The Marketing Director will lead all aspects of marketing and communications to position JM Pet Resort and Veterinary Clinic as a premier pet destination dedicated to exceptional animal care. Reporting directly to the President, this individual will oversee a dynamic five-person team comprising a Marketing Manager, Senior Graphic Designer, Social Media Specialist, Content Writer, and part-time Data Specialist. The role will initially be on-site, with potential for flexibility and remote work in the future based on growth, learning, and collaboration needs.

Essential Job Functions:
Marketing Strategy:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive annual marketing plan aligned with company goals.
- Conduct market research to identify new opportunities and ensure alignment with business segments.
- Oversee all internal and external company communications, ensuring consistency and brand integrity.
- Manage the Marketing Operations Budget and report activity results to the President.
- Stay informed of industry trends, competitor strategies, and evolving market regulations.
- Safeguard the company’s brand image by maintaining Brand Guidelines and intellectual property protections.
Business Development:
- Develop franchise marketing plans, including templates, content, brand guidelines, and local strategies for franchisees.
- Explore opportunities to leverage existing business areas (e.g., JM Veterinary Clinic, retail, nutrition consults) and recommend promotional strategies.
- Strengthen internal processes and partnerships to maximize business impact.
- Analyze client demographics to inform targeted marketing strategies.
- Continuously evaluate and enhance the customer experience.
Public Relations and Events:
- Serve as the Public Relations expert, fostering relationships with the community, schools, and other organizations.
- Identify and pursue PR opportunities, awards, and recognitions for the brand.
- Plan and execute external and internal events (e.g., community events, employee appreciation events, client gift programs).
- Manage sponsorships, partnerships, and charitable donations.
Team Management:
- Lead and mentor the marketing team, fostering individual growth and team collaboration.
- Facilitate regular team meetings to align on goals, strategies, and follow-ups.
- Oversee department workflow, ensuring timely and effective execution of initiatives.
Content Writing:
- Provide strategic direction for content creation across all marketing channels, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Write persuasive, effective copy for campaigns, PR, and internal communications.
- Oversee the internal employee-facing newsletter and online review responses.
Data Analytics:
- Establish and track performance metrics for campaigns, advising adjustments as needed.
- Analyze competitor advertising and market conditions to inform strategy.
Social Media:
- Set goals and KPIs for social media initiatives, guiding the Social Media Specialist to execute relevant, impactful content.
- Ensure all social media channels are current, engaging, and aligned with brand values.
Website Management:
- Oversee website updates, architecture, and branding to maintain a modern, engaging presence.
- Conduct routine audits to ensure website content accuracy and relevance.
- Integrate website strategies into broader marketing efforts to drive traffic and conversions.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (with a Marketing focus) or a Marketing degree required.
Experience:
- 5-7 years of proven experience as a Marketing Manager or Strategist.
- Demonstrable success in developing and executing marketing campaigns.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of SEO/SEM, Google Analytics, and web design principles.
