Job Description

Chulita is looking for a talented and experienced bar manager responsible for overseeing all aspects of a bar's day-to-day operations, including managing staff, inventory control, ensuring customer satisfaction, maintaining cleanliness, creating drink menus, and upholding compliance with liquor licensing regulations, all while providing strong leadership and excellent customer service skills;   often requiring flexible hours including evenings and weekends.  

 

Key responsibilities of a bar manager:

  • Staff Management:

    Hiring, training, scheduling, and supervising bartenders, servers, and other bar staff.  

     

  • Inventory Control:

    Tracking and ordering alcohol, mixers, and other bar supplies to maintain proper stock levels and minimize waste.  

     

  • Menu Development:

    Creating and updating drink menus, including signature cocktails and seasonal offerings.  

     

  • Customer Service:

    Addressing customer concerns, ensuring a positive experience, and fostering a welcoming atmosphere.  

     

  • Financial Management:

    Monitoring sales, managing costs, adhering to budget constraints, and analyzing financial reports.  

     

  • Compliance:

    Ensuring adherence to all local liquor laws and regulations, including proper ID checks.  

     

  • Operational Oversight:

    Maintaining cleanliness and safety standards within the bar area.  

     

  • Marketing and Promotions:

    Implementing marketing strategies to attract new customers and promote special events.  

     

  • Shift Management:

    Overseeing bar operations during assigned shifts, including opening and closing procedures.  

     

Required skills for a bar manager:

  • Leadership abilities:   Effectively managing and motivating a team

  • Communication skills:   Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with staff and customers

  • Organizational skills:   Efficiently managing multiple tasks and priorities

  • Knowledge of mixology:   Understanding of drink recipes and cocktail preparation

  • Financial acumen:   Ability to track inventory, manage costs, and analyze sales data

  • Customer service focus:   Prioritizing customer satisfaction and resolving complaints

  • Flexibility:   Willingness to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends
