About the Role:
PTS is seeking a highly skilled Technical Writer to join our project team. This role is integral in creating, managing, and maintaining engineering design specifications, procedures, and guidance documents. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented with exceptional writing skills and a strong grasp of engineering concepts and terminology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Document Creation: Develop, write, and edit engineering design specifications, procedures, and guidance documents to ensure clarity, accuracy, and compliance with industry standards.
- Content Management: Organize and maintain a comprehensive document management system, ensuring all documentation is current and easily accessible.
- Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, project managers, and stakeholders to gather information and verify technical accuracy.
- Review and Editing: Edit existing documents to improve clarity, consistency, and technical accuracy.
- Standards Compliance: Ensure all documentation meets company and industry safety and regulatory standards.
- Training Materials: Create training materials and user manuals to facilitate the implementation of engineering procedures and specifications.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify process improvements and implement best practices to enhance documentation quality and efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 3-5 years of technical writing experience, within the petrochemical or related industry.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of engineering concepts and terminology.
- Software Proficiency:
Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Adobe Acrobat
SharePoint
Microsoft Visio for charts and process flow diagrams
- Writing Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly.
- Attention to Detail: High accuracy and attention to detail in all documentation.
- Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
- Problem-Solving: Capability to resolve documentation and content management challenges.
- Adaptability: Proven ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to shifting priorities in a dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements in the petrochemical sector.
- Certification in technical writing or a related field.
Contract Duration:
- Expected to run through the end of 2025 , with the possibility of extension.
