Position Overview

The Managing Director will have direct responsibilities to manage the operations of the office, build and lead a well-organized, highly skilled team, grow and retain business, and effectively implement or refine business processes that result in the highest level of quality, performance, and profitability. All operational decisions will be conducted within the business plan, budget, policies and procedures of the company.


Key Responsibilities


Strategic Leadership


  • Work with Leadership Team to establish a Business Plan at the beginning of the fiscal year
  • Manage the operations budget to include revenue, expenses, and fixed asset acquisitions along with justification to be submitted against the business plan.
  • Report on industry changes, local market conditions, and sound strategies for accomplishing growth objectives


Operational Management


  • Oversee daily operations of the company, ensuring efficient processes and high standards of service delivery across all business functions
  • Manage and mentor team leaders, foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Ensure effective project management practices are in place for the successful execution of client projects and events
  • Ensure national operational efficiency through resource sharing for labor and equipment in partnership with other MD’s


Financial Oversight

  • Monitor and evaluate operation effectiveness effecting changes required for improvement
  • Ensure purchasing decisions and expense spending are within AVFX policies, procedures, and good business judgment.
  • Manage CapEx budget for local office by working with local team to establish equipment needs for that office
  • Work with Senior Leadership Team on allocation of budget, and alignment of larger company wide CapEx purchases.
  • Maximize the return on the sales executed through the office


Client and Stakeholder Relations

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and industry partners
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and client meetings to promote the company’s brand and capabilities
  • Address client concerns and feedback to ensure high levels of satisfaction and repeat business


Marketing and Business Development

  • Collaborate with VP of Sales on execution of sales & marketing strategies to promote the company’s services and enhance brand awareness, locally


Team Leadership and Development

  • Ensure staffing levels and positions are adequate for current business level and projected growth according to the business plan
  • Ensure team members are provided adequate training to make meaningful progress in their current positions and future goals
  • Foster a positive work environment that supports employee engagement, growth, and performance
  • Reinforce and champion AVFX company culture


Innovation and Industry Trends

  • Stay abreast of technological advancements, industry trends, and competitive developments
  • Lead the technical team’s evaluation and implementation of new technologies and methodologies to enhance the company’s service offerings and operational efficiency
  • Scan the environment for new markets and product opportunities


Experience

  • At least 10 years of experience in the audio-visual industry, with a proven track record in senior management roles.
  • Extensive experience in strategic planning, financial management, and operational oversight
  • Demonstrated success in client relationship management, and team leadership


Skills

  • Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to inspire and guide a diverse team
  • Excellent financial acumen and experience with budgeting, financial analysis, and reporting
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • In-depth knowledge of audio-visual technologies, industry standards, and market dynamics
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools
