Widen The Net is a partner recruitment agency to Snap and we are hiring for their contract positions.

Snap Inc are looking for a Backend Engineer to join our FinTech team!

You will design and implement robust microservices and SQL-based reporting solutions to power critical financial systems.

Technologies: Java, backend services, microservices, SQL, Kubernets, Memcache/Ridis, GCP/AWS

? Design, develop, and operate scalable, high-performance microservices and APIs.

? Gather product requirements, evaluate trade-offs, and deliver effective solutions.

? Build complex SQL reports to support data-driven decision-making.

? Evaluate, test, and debug your work to ensure high-quality deliverables.

? Advocate for best practices in availability, scalability, operational excellence, and cost optimization.

Requirements:

-5+ years of experience in Java software development, focusing on backend systems and distributed architectures

-Experience in developing large scale microservices using Java

-Strong experience in SQL

-Experience in Kubernetes, Memcache/Redis is a plus

-Experience in GCP or AWS is a plus

-Strong communication skills

W2 employer full time contract, initially till the end of 2025 with the option to extend yearly. Offer up to $66.67 an hour (40 hours per week, Mon-Fri) plus 50% contribution to medical plan, sick leave and federal public holidays as PTOs. Full remote working from anywhere in the US.
