Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Busser with 2+ years of experience to provide exceptional table service and ensure that our patrons have a memorable dining experience. You must have the ability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

The Busser is responsible for ensuring that the service stations are set and maintained so that the server staff is equipped to run an effective operation. Duties include removing dirty plate and glassware when guest is finished eating, restocking ice and server station areas, bins, maintaining cleanliness of dining room and dining service areas, delivering food to guests when needed, removal of trash throughout shift and end of the night, assisting servers with closing side work, assisting server{s} throughout shift must be pleasant, conscientious and professional with good organizational skills and can-do attitude. Must be able to operate effectively as part of a team, take direction and think proactively, communicate clearly, and ensure smooth service operations and quality service.

GENERAL EXPECTATIONS :

  • Act with integrity, honesty, and knowledge that promote the culture, values, and mission of the restaurant.
  • Is knowledgeable of and upholds the policies of the restaurant as it applies to conduct, expectations, and procedures.
  • Maintain clean and organized workstations that are cohesive with the restaurant’s philosophy, culture and standards of excellence.
  • Recognize or seek areas for staff and restaurant improvement and offer positive solutions for change.
  • Operate within the restaurant daily with efficiency, respect, friendliness, professionalism, teamwork, knowledge, patience, awareness, compassion, courtesy and initiative.
  • Understand completely all programs, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines, and training programs.
  • Understand philosophy of management and owner. Displays consistent attention to detail and follow through of all restaurant policies.
  • Represents the restaurant professionally through effective communication, cooperation and relationships with all business partners.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :

(Includes but is not limited to the following duties. Other duties may be assigned):

  • Understand and perform job duties to the expectations of the restaurant and restaurant Service, Food, Beverage and Wine manuals.
  • Perform all side work applicable to assigned station.
  • Welcome all guests and ensure guests receive responsive, professional, and gracious service always.
  • Liaise with Servers and Bartender to ensure communication at all times about the wants and needs of guests.
  • Busses bar, restaurant and dining tables.
  • Maintains the cleanliness of the dining area.
  • Polishes glass and silverware.
  • Maintain a clean, safe environment always in the dining room and all service stations.
  • Fully understand and comply with all federal, state, county and municipal regulations that pertain to health, safety, and labor requirements of the restaurant employees and guests.
  • Perform set up duties as requested to include side stations, storage areas and food staging areas.
  • Perform general cleaning tasks utilizing cleaning to adhere to health and safety standards.
  • Perform other duties as requested, such as cleaning unexpected spills and executing special guest requests.
  • Operates as a member of the team, helping others and requesting help as needed.

 

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Cleanliness, organization, and the ability to work well in a team situation are crucial to this position.
  • High school or equivalent education required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid food service certification card.
  • Must be impeccably groomed, maintain good hygiene and good posture.
  • Ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to follow instructions and procedures.
