Job Summary
The Cable Technician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing cable systems for residential and commercial customers. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong technical skills, excellent customer service abilities, and a commitment to safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair cable systems, including internet, television, and telephone services.
- Inspect and test cable systems to ensure optimal functionality and performance.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to signal transmission, hardware, or connectivity.
- Handle cabling tasks, including splicing, terminating, and pulling cables.
- Provide clear guidance to customers on the proper use of installed systems.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and customer interactions.
- Adhere to safety standards and industry regulations at all times.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure timely completion of tasks.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications preferred (e.g., SCTE, BICSI).
- Proven experience as a cable technician or similar role.
- Strong understanding of cable systems, signal flow, and networking principles.
- Proficient in using diagnostic tools, hand tools, and power tools.
- Familiarity with industry standards and safety protocols.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to (specific weight, e.g., 50 lbs).
- Comfortable working at heights, including ladders and utility poles.
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
