Valve Engineer / Component Engineer

Work Location: The position would likely be hybrid, however we have moved to 2 days a week on-site so I would anticipate this role being a few days on-site per 2 weeks. (Salem, NJ)

Per diem : $166.00 (7 days)

Duration : 11 months +

Mob / Demob : $500 each

Hours : Mostly Remote


Project Details:

Position will provide engineering support/design review for MOV and AOV related projects


Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical expertise in the identification, investigation, and resolution of plant operating, safety, and design issues to ensure plant reliability and availability
  • Including use of technical expertise to support safe and reliable plant operation and maintenance of valves/components.
  • Developing mechanical technical evaluations e.g. repair plans, bolting, torquing, and gasket evaluations
  • Monitoring, trending and assessing system, program and component health to improve plant reliability.
  • Championing Strategic Improvements to Systems and components
  • Support valve maintenance and work management by resolving engineering technical issues within the work management process, including simple trouble shooting support.

  • Leading complex troubleshooting activities with maintenance and operations support.
  • Leading design, development and installation of strategic, emergent and temporary modifications in the plant.
  • Identify, prioritize and support other plant processes and programs including: the corrective action program, operability determination, adverse condition monitoring and operational decision making processes.
  • Perform field support of plant activities and conducting paired or individual system walk downs


  • Requirements: Minimum 15 years of experience
  • Engineering degree plus 5+ years commercial nuclear experience

Physical Requirements : Lift 50lbs, perform walk downs
