Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinarian to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for animal care and welfare, with the ability to diagnose and treat a variety of animal health issues. This role requires excellent communication skills to educate pet owners on proper care and treatment options, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Pinecrest Animal Hospital is located in Owosso, MI, conveniently located approximately within 45 minutes of Lansing and Saginaw. Owosso is a historic small town community that offers great schools, local shopping, unique restaurants, and nature trails. Pinecrest Animal Hospital offers a modern clean facility with advanced technology (digital x-ray, dedicated surgical suite, dedicated dental suite, and full in house laboratory) and a compassionate driven team that provides excellent high quality patient care.
Duties
- Conduct thorough examinations of animals to assess their health and diagnose any medical conditions.
- Administer vaccinations and medications as needed.
- Perform surgical procedures, including animal catheterization, spaying, and neutering.
- Provide emergency care for injured or ill animals.
- Maintain accurate medical records for each patient, documenting treatments and progress.
- Educate pet owners on animal husbandry, care practices, and preventive health measures.
- Collaborate with veterinary technicians and support staff to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Stay current with advancements in veterinary medicine and participate in continuing education opportunities.
Skills
- Proficient in veterinary terminology and animal handling techniques.
- Strong knowledge of animal care practices, including grooming and restraint methods.
- Experience with equine medicine is a plus but not required.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with pet owners and team members.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail in a clinical setting.
- A genuine love for animals and commitment to their welfare is essential.

Pay: $135,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year

Schedule:
- 8 - 10 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed (1 Saturday/month, no Sundays)
