Job Title: Lead Technical Writer
Location: Columbus, OH (3 days onsite, 2 days remote)

Contract - Only W2JOB DESCRIPTIONJob Summary: The Lead Technical & Business Writer will create, edit, and maintain high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and executive leadership, to ensure clarity and consistency in all technical and business documentation and presentations. Your ability to evaluate, analyze, and comprehensively deliver complex information will make you an ideal candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain
comprehensive documentation, including user guides, technical manuals,
business process documents, and executive presentations.
Determine the clearest,
most consistent, and logical way to present information for optimal reader
comprehension.
Collaborate with subject
matter experts to gather information and ensure content accuracy and
completeness.
Translate complex
technical concepts and business processes into clear, concise, and
user-friendly documentation.
Review and edit content
created by other team members to ensure consistency and adherence to style
guidelines.
Manage multiple
documentation projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and
high-quality output.
Conduct usability
testing and gather feedback to continuously improve documentation quality.
Stay updated with
industry trends and best practices in technical writing and business
communication.
Assist in scheduling,
planning, and tracking documentation to meet deadlines and final product
publish dates.
TECHNICAL SKILLSMust Have
Bachelor's
degree in Technical Writing, Communications, Computer Science, or a
related field.
Minimum of
5 years of experience in a technology field
Minimum of
7 years of experience in Financial industry
Minimum of
7 years of experience in technical writing, focusing on both technical and
business documentation.
Strong
understanding of technical concepts and the ability to explain them
clearly to non-technical audiences.
Excellent
written and verbal communication skills. Ability to provide reference
material of prior work examples.
Proven
ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
Proven
ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment without supervision.
Proven
experience in technical writing and documentation for audiences with
varying levels of technical expertise.
Proven
experience in comprehending and translating technical information for
general audiences and c-suite level communications
Demonstrated ability to present technical material in a classroom setting,
presentation, or video conference.
Strong
proficiency in PowerPoint and storytelling.
Strong
attention to detail and the ability to work independently and as part of a
team.
Results-driven approach and problem-solving ability.
Familiarity with Agile development methodologies is a plus.
Nice To Have
Knowledge of programming languages and software development processes. Experience with creating multimedia content, such as videos and interactive tutorials. Certification in technical writing or related fields.
