JOB SUMMARY
The HR Coordinator will be reporting to the HR Director with a dotted line to the HR Generalist. The coordinator will oversee human resource policies and programs in the areas of, employee relations, labor relations, staffing, payroll, EEO/AAP, benefits, and safety for the facility. The HR coordinator will provide direction and counsel regarding human resource aspects of plant operations in a union and non-union environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinating all Recruitment & Selection activities (e.g. processing applications, updating recruitment activity spreadsheets, preparation of interview letters, and coordinating the scheduling of interviews, liaising with line managers and recruitment agencies regarding vacancies). Extending employment offers and conducting new hire orientation.
Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests, and questions.
Maintain personnel and medical files. Enroll employees in benefits through the HRIS, process enrollment changes, create personnel and medical file folders, file employment and benefit documents, remove terminated employee files, along with other related daily processing. Completes Forms I-9, verifies I-9 documentation and maintains I-9 files.
Assist with leave of absence administration and tracking.
Review and approves benefit invoices.
Functions as a payroll back-up to the HR Generalist.
Assists with the preparation of the performance review process.
Present any new or additional training materials to employees
Foster positive employee relations and work to solve any employee issues that surface or are brought to your attention
Make sure all employee records are filed correctly and kept confidential
- Abide by company enforced HR processes and current employment laws and regulations
Support line managers in employee investigations and provide guidance to them by adhering to the union contract or employee handbook.
Prepare and process employee HRIS transactions such as new hires, terminations, promotions, and other job changes.
Administer service award program, prepare annual, monthly and quarterly data
Prepare various employee communications via bulletin boards, email, home mailing, etc.
Coordinate and plan employee engagement activities while tracking expenses through an activity spreadsheet
Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS (PRIOR EXPERIENCE)
Bilingual in Spanish and English
3 -5 years relevant experience in HR in a manufacturing setting
Union and Labor Relations experience preferred
Experience using HR software and HRIS databases
Payroll experience
