Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) plays a key role in coordinating and delivering high-quality, compassionate patient care. Using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation), the RN is responsible for providing, delegating, supervising, and documenting patient care and education for both patients and their families. Effective communication with the healthcare team is essential to meet patient care needs and address any variances from established goals. The RN will also be involved in administering stress tests, TEEs, and providing lab-related support as needed in the Emergency Department (ED) and Clinical Decision Unit (CDU).

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop personalized care plans.
• Provide, delegate, supervise, and document patient care and education.
• Communicate important patient and family information to the healthcare team.
• Monitor patient conditions, especially during stress tests, TEEs, and lab-related tasks, ensuring prompt reactions to any changes.
• Administer stress tests, Transesophageal Echocardiograms (TEEs), and assist with lab-related tasks to support ED/CDU.
• Assist with the monitoring and care of patients in telemetry/stepdown settings.
• Work across three locations, providing care in varying settings as required.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years of telemetry or stepdown nursing experience.
• Current RN licensure in Michigan.
• BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Ability to read and interpret ECGs.
• Strong patient assessment skills, particularly in high-acuity settings.
• Ability to adapt quickly to changes in patient condition and effectively manage care.

• Contract Duration: 13-week contract with potential for extension or conversion to a permanent position.

  • Monday – Friday:
    • 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM (Stress Tests)
    • 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (TEEs, float duties, and satellite locations)
  • Weekends:
    • 5:30 AM – 2:00 PM (Board Runner)
    • 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (Stress Tests, CDU/ER, and Bubble Studies)

• Weekend Scheduling: Two RNs will be on the weekend schedule, with rotational shifts.
