NuWest Travel Nursing is seeking an experienced Travel Nurse RN specializing in Labor and Delivery to work in a rural New Mexico hospital for a 13-week assignment. The role requires proficiency in caring for mothers and newborns, with preferences for candidates holding relevant certifications and at least 3 years of experience in Labor and Delivery. The nurse will work 12-hour night shifts and must be comfortable floating to MedSurg when necessary while providing care on a full Labor and Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum unit.

Shift: Night Schedule: 3x12 L&D/OB (LDRP) RN Requirements: MUST HAVES: Absolute Minimum of 3-years Labor and Delivery, Recovery and Postpartum (LDRP) experience (they would prefer them to have 4-5 years ideally) CERTS: BLS, ACLS, NRP, Intermediate Fetal Monitoring - which can be from AWHONN or Relias Academy (STABLE also preferred but not required) Travel experience is preferred NOT required Charting: Fetal Link and Cerner Must be proficient caring for the mother and baby No high-risk mothers typically admitted as there is no high-risk section Must be comfortable with typically L&D IV gtts especially Pitocin and Magnesium Use Omnicell Unit is a full Labor and Delivery, Recovery and Postpartum (LDRP) floor all in one. Will have to care for the patient through the continuum of care until discharge. Must be comfortable working in the LDRP floor setting Will be required to float to MedSurg and accept at least 1-2 patient care load when LDPR has no patients: MedSurg experience is preferred for this reason, but not an absolute must. Just have to be comfortable floating to MedSurg when asked. Patients will be stable and not high acuity for the float. MISC: Level I Nursery No NICU, all neonatal patient's flown/transferred out to bigger facility 25 Bed Critical Access Hospital Primary Care, Podiatry, Cardiology, ortho service line They are a rural and underserved community Used to be the uranium mining capital of the world, very diverse population in the community. They have a Walmart and local grocery store 1 hour from Albuquerque and 1 hour from Gallup Mount Taylor in their backyard Lots of outdoor activities – hiking and biking trails, some cross-country skiing in the winter Blue Water Lake is about 30 mins away – small lake in the area, not a lot of other water options Great culture and great employees – focus on recognition, celebrating success
