Job Description

The ACE outpatient therapist will provide culturally competent and trauma informed treatment services to individuals and/or families who are experiencing varying levels of difficulties due to life situation, mental health and/or substance use concerns as well as severe and persistent mental illness. The therapist will provide comprehensive assessments, therapy, consultation/case management and make appropriate referrals as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide high quality, compassionate and ethical outpatient mental health and/or substance use treatment to clients
Complete and maintain clinical documentation within agency set timeframes
Maintain productivity expectations for your position and department
Participate in interdisciplinary clinical/administrative team meetings
Maintain an effective working relationship with professionals in the community and other agencies through verbal and written communication
Conceptualize mental health, behavioral and substance use disorders in a manner that incorporates knowledge of growth and development in youth and adults.
Assist client in defining and implementing treatment goals and develop a collaborative treatment plan. Make referrals as clinically indicated.
Assess and manage risk on an ongoing basis and adjust level of care and recommendations as needed.
Skills in applying varied interventions with individuals and families in crisis
Administer drug screening as clinically necessary. Understand the benefits and limitations of testing procedures.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to prioritize effectively, work independently and be highly organized.
Ability to navigate computer software include Microsoft Word and the agencies ECR, CareLogic
Ability to engage clients and establish ongoing relationships
Skills associated with group facilitation and group member interaction

Required Education and Experience:
Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, or a related field
Current licensure (LPCC, LPCC-S, LISW, or LISW-S) by the appropriate body in the state of Ohio and shall practice only within the scope of their licensure
All employees who provide mental health services shall be qualified to provide those services according to Chapter 5122-23 of the administrative code
Knowledge and training on Trauma Informed Care (preferred)
