Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA)

Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) Responsibility Highlights include:
· Responsible for direct resident care by administering the therapy outlined in the plan of care to assist the resident to develop or regain functioning to perform activities of daily living.
· Administration of occupational therapy treatments to residents as outlined by the physician’s orders and the plan of care established by the Occupational Therapist.
· Reports information related to the Occupational Therapist regarding the resident’s progress, complications and/or response to treatment.
· Assist the Occupational Therapist in performing procedures, tests and complex treatments to ensure the safe and effective evaluation and treatment of residents.
· Maintains confidentiality of all patient, facility and physician-related information.
· Maintains accurate billing information in accordance with procedures on a daily basis.
· Attends and participates in interdisciplinary meetings as appropriate to relay clinical findings and recommendations to other members of the rehab team.
· Attends and participates in family meetings as appropriate.
· Adheres to documentation requirements of the Rehabilitation Department and the facility
· Expected to meet productivity standards as established by the Director of Therapy.
Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) Minimum Qualifications:
· Occupational Therapist Assistant in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in good standing.
