Job Description
The echocardiography technician performs echocardiography examinations according to department procedure including transthoracic and pharmacological/exercise stress studies as required for age-specific populations. The technician will provide preliminary exam findings to Cardiologists to aid in the interpretation of the study. They maintain all necessary documentation of procedures performed. They will keep abreast of all education requirements such as in-service programs to maintain competency.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
Travel to Branford, Hamden and New Haven offices required
2 years' experience preferred.
ARDMS: RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer) or CCI: ACS (Advanced Cardiac Sonographer) required
American Heart Association: Basic Life Support (BLS) & Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
Adult Echocardiography registry eligible. Ability to obtain and maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire
