Job Title: Clinical Pharmacist

Job Duties:
* Ensure that all medications given to patients are prescribed for a legitimate healthcare purpose within the hospital pharmacopeia. They should be safe, effective, and appropriate, and documented by current guidelines for professional practice
* Order drugs, medical supplies, and other products in line with correct prescribing practice and relevant legislation, including national guidelines
* Provide post-prescribing advice to patients through effective communication with healthcare professionals
* Work with the clinical staff to ensure that patients are prescribed the correct dose of medication. This should be according to current guidelines, and they understand how they need to use their medication
* Monitor drug therapy, including the regular review of the patient’s medication, dosage, or frequency of administration. A variety of methods should be used, such as questionnaires and interviews in conjunction with other healthcare professionals involved in the patient’s care plan
* Provide drug information to patients to provide clear advice on the appropriate use of medications
* Ensure safe and accurate administration of medications to patients through effective communication with other healthcare professionals
* Ensure all drugs used in the hospital are stored in suitable conditions, prepared correctly by hospital pharmacy staff (if required), and administered safely to patients.
* Promote safe drug disposal practices
* Provide advice on drug addiction when indicated through appropriate communication with other health care professionals. Use a variety of methods, such as interviews, questionnaires, and counseling
* Prepare and monitor drug administration charts and provide effective oversight. This is to ensure compliance with all hospital policies, procedures, and legal requirements
* Provide accurate, timely, and safe supply of medications to patients through effective communication with other health care professionals.



Job Requirements:
* At least 1 year of Hospital Experience Required.
* Louisiana License Required
* Must have very recent experience in a hospital setting. Retail-only experience will be rejected. (No Exceptions)
* BLS from AHA or ARC
* No call, no floating.
* ACLS and PALS (pediatric practice) within 180 days of start date
* 1 year of Pharmacist experience - Required

* 10 hour shift
* 40 Hour Guaranteed in a week
* 10:00 AM - 8:30 PM

Benefits:
