AI Research Scientist - Language - Core AIMeta is seeking a Research Scientist to join Reality Labs XRTech Core AI organization. The organization focuses on developing efficient foundational models as a platform to enable differentiated and delightful user experiences across Reality Labs products. We are seeking a talented AI Research Scientist with experience in natural language processing, language models and general AI to join the team to investigate how to build contextually aware AI that will be the foundation for a new paradigm in how we interact and use AI devices from Reality Labs. The chosen candidate will work with a diverse and highly interdisciplinary team of scientists, engineers, and cross-functional partners and access cutting-edge technology, resources, and research facilities.Responsibilities Develop algorithms based on state-of-the-art machine learning and neural network methodologies.Define, build and benchmark the efficient foundation models for contextual AI paradigm for various devices in Reality Labs.Conduct research towards long-term ambitious research goals while identifying intermediate milestones.Conduct research to advance the science and technology of language modeling, natural language processing and generative AI modeling.Work with engineering teams to ship state-of-the-art models to product.Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.PhD in natural language processing, language modeling or machine learning, model compression, model optimization or related areas.2+ years of industry, academic, or government lab experience in natural language processing, language modeling and/or machine learning, model compression, model optimization or related areas.Experience solving complex problems and comparing alternative solutions, tradeoffs, and diverse points of view to determine a path forward.Experience communicating research for public audiences of peers.Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.Preferred Qualifications First-authored publications at peer-reviewed conferences (e.g. EMNLP, ACL, NAACL, ICLR, NeurIPS etc).4+ year(s) of work experience in an industry, university, or government lab.About MetaMeta builds technologies that help people connect, find communities, and grow businesses.
