This position can be located at our corporate headquarters in the West Fulton Market District of Chicago, IL, or at our Wilmington, OH and Scranton, PA manufacturing facilities. The position has a hybrid work schedule requiring
3 days a week in the office. An employee shuttle to and from Ogilvie Transportation and Union Station in Chicago is provided, as well as subsidized parking in our Chicago headquarters building attached garage. Position Summary: As a Data Science Manager, you will be working directly with Chief Digital and Technology Officer to build and lead AZEK's AI and Data Science practice. While the job has strategy and management aspects, the successful candidate will be a hands-on data scientist. This is a hybrid position with 3 days a week in the office in Chicago.
Responsibilities: - Develop and implement AI strategies, infrastructure and tools that support business objectives.
- Oversee the design, development, and deployment of AI and machine learning solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify AI opportunities and integrate AI solutions into existing systems; manage projects from inception to completion.
- Establish data governance policies and best practices for AI development and implementation.
Qualifications: - Bachelor's or master's degree in data science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in a data science role.
- Strong programming skills in Python or R, and proficiency in SQL.
- Experience with machine learning libraries such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
- Experience in Generative AI models and Large Language Models (LLMs), open source or otherwise.
- Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
- Knowledge of statistical analysis and hypothesis testing.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, or matplotlib).
- Strong communication skills and ability to present complex findings to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Skills: - Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS or GCP).
- Familiarity with deep learning techniques.
- Experience with natural language processing (NLP).
- Understanding of data privacy and security best practice.
Compensation for roles at AZEK varies depending on a wide range of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set and level of experience. The annual salary for this role based in Chicago is $148,000 to $160,000. The annual salary for this role based in Wilmington, OH is $137,000 to $150,000. The annual salary for this role based in Scranton, PA is $131,000 to $1145,000. In addition to base salary, we offer generous bonus and incentive opportunities that significantly increase earning potential.
