Production Customization Supervisor
On Site | Reports to the Senior Operations Manager
Full time | Monday-Friday - 9:00am - 5:30pm
The Role
As a Customization/Embroidery Department Supervisor, you will lead a team of Customization Associates in a fast-paced Fulfillment Center environment. You will manage and monitor the Customization/Embroidery Department's production to ensure quality-driven results while building positive employee relations, promoting strong leadership skills, and consistently meeting performance objectives. In this role, a great emphasis on product knowledge, providing the highest quality and service levels to customers, and maintaining a safe and efficient working environment is expected.
What you will do
  • Oversee daily operation of all functions within the customization department
  • Set and clarify expectations and productivity goals for associates within the department
  • Measure performance, provide feedback, and hold employees accountable for their performance and attendance
  • Drive quality initiatives and process change initiatives to exceed business plans
  • Work closely with the Team Sales department to review customer designs
  • Source and nurture ideas to create improvement plans for the functional area
  • Ensure that best practices are shared within the organization
  • Update and email daily reports
  • Train and cross-train employees on various equipment and shifts within the customization department
  • Responsible for overall safety, quality, performance, and customer experience
  • Collaborate with support staff (HR, Facilities, Safety, IT, and other Operations Managers) to build and secure support and resources for projects and initiatives in their area, as well as providing needed support and resources for other staff initiatives
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere that strengthens the team
  • Digitize designs from artwork, sketches, and logos to be used for embroidery
  • Ability to have a flexible schedule that allows you to open and close the building as needed
  • Meet or exceed customer expected quality and service levels within the department
Requirements
  • 5+ years of direct supervisory experience in a direct-to-garment, embroidery, and/or heat press, machine operating and equipment industry
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to command a team
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Advanced MS Excel and Google Workspace skills; previous experience with Photoshop, CorelDraw, Embroidery Machine Equipment, and Software
  • Effective multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment
  • Customer-focused attitude
  • Ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgment in stressful situations
  • Ability to detect slight differences in colors
  • Knowledge and familiarity with computer design and graphics
  • Ability to work overtime as needed, including additional hours and/or weekends
  • Experience with Melco/Tajima Embroidery machines, Roland Vinyl Printers, Hotronix Heat Press Machines, and DTF Machines
Physical Requirements
  • Regular bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching both below the waist and above the head
  • Ability to lift and move totes up to 49 pounds each
  • Continual standing and/or walking without limitations up to 10 hours daily
  • Ability to work in a distribution environment that may be noisy, unheated, and not air-conditioned
