Temporary Litigation Attorney (Berkeley)Location Berkeley, CAHourly Pay $50 to $85 per hourDuration Contract (6 Month Assignment), Full-time, OnsiteResponsibilities Case Evaluation: Investigate and evaluate potential new cases, examining both technical and legal aspects. Gain a comprehensive understanding of the facts related to each assigned case.Document Analysis: Examine, summarize, and highlight evidence from legal documents. Conduct thorough research on legal facts and regulations pertinent to new cases.Discovery Process: Oversee the discovery phase, which involves drafting written discovery, engaging in meet-and-confers, and preparing for and conducting depositions. Create briefs, memoranda, and other legal documents to support litigation processes.Trial and Hearing Preparation: Thoroughly prepare for hearings, trials, and depositions. Collaborate in identifying and coordinating expert witnesses.Qualifications Education and Experience: Hold a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree with 2-5 years of litigation experience. Strong preference for class action and antitrust experience. Solid academic and employment credentials, with federal law clerk experience viewed positively.Analytical and Communication Skills: Demonstrate exceptional analytical skills with a strong emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail. Essential for success are superior writing, drafting, and oral advocacy skills.Interpersonal Abilities: Exhibit excellent interpersonal, organizational, and planning skills. Effective verbal and written communication skills are necessary for interactions with internal and external contacts at all levels.Personal Attributes: Be results-oriented, a self-starter with a high level of initiative. Capable of working collaboratively in a team environment and independently as needed. Display adaptability to shifting priorities and maintain composure in high-pressure situations.Confidentiality and Technology Proficiency: Handle highly confidential information with professionalism and unquestionable integrity.
