A law firm in Los Angeles, CA, is seeking a skilled and motivated Business Litigation Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience, excellent academic credentials, and strong advocacy skills, both written and oral. This role involves handling discovery and trial preparation, requiring a proactive, detail-oriented, and team-oriented professional with relevant experience in business litigation at either a large firm or a civil litigation boutique.Duties and Responsibilities:Represent clients in business litigation matters, including contract disputes, business torts, and complex commercial litigation.Conduct extensive legal research and prepare legal memoranda, pleadings, motions, and briefs.Manage all aspects of the discovery process, including drafting and responding to discovery requests, taking and defending depositions, and coordinating e-discovery.Prepare for and assist in all phases of trial preparation, including preparing witnesses, evidence, and trial strategies.Participate in mediation and settlement discussions, advocating for clients’ interests.Engage in client communication and counseling, providing updates, legal guidance, and strategies tailored to each client’s business goals.Work collaboratively with partners, associates, paralegals, and support staff to effectively manage litigation cases.Stay current with developments in business litigation law and apply this knowledge to cases.Maintain compliance with legal ethics and standards.Education and Certifications:Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Outstanding academic credentials are required.Admission to the California State Bar (Los Angeles Bar membership required).Requirements:3-5 years of experience in business litigation at a large law firm or civil litigation boutique.Proven experience in managing discovery, depositions, and trial preparation.Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal civil procedure rules.Excellent oral and written advocacy skills.Familiarity with electronic discovery tools and litigation support software.Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities.Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.Skills:Exceptional legal research and analytical skills.Ability to draft clear, persuasive, and legally sound motions, briefs, and other legal documents.Effective courtroom presence and strong public speaking skills.High attention to detail and accuracy.Proficient in legal software, case management tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain client relationships.Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.#J-18808-Ljbffr
