This position will leverage negotiation, relationship-building, critical-thinking and communication skills to support the operational contracting needs for the organization, with a focus on event and hospitality contracts, service agreements, and technology agreements.This position will report to a Managing Counsel.Key Responsibilities: Prepare, review, redline, and independently negotiate all varieties of operational contracts including but not limited to service agreements, event and hospitality agreements, confidentiality agreements, agency and media agreements, real estate documents, and technology agreements.Ensure contracts are legally sound, protect LA28’s rights, comply with LA28’s contractual and other obligations, and align with strategic objectives.Work closely with individual departments to anticipate, identify and manage operational contract needs.Help establish and refine legal team policies, procedures, and standard operating practices.Update and maintain LA28’s suite of template contracts and terms and conditions.Ensure compliance with applicable international, federal, state, and local laws and regulations.Conduct legal research in support of operational contracting subject matter.Keep current on industry-wide legal trends and developments.Perform other significant projects / duties as assigned by the Managing Counsel.Background & Qualifications: At least 3 years’ experience in contract review and negotiation required.Concrete understanding of contract law, and business transactional principles.Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively.Excellent judgment, knowing when to escalate issues.Excellent analytical skills; capable of identifying and prioritizing issues.Excellent project and time-management skills.Ability to drive client-focused results.Positive, team-oriented and collaborative attitude.High level of personal integrity and professional ethics.Sound judgment and decision-making skills.Demonstrated commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB).Position Requirements: Will be required to be in the office up to 4-5 days per week in an open office setting.Sitting/Standing: Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while working at a desk or computer.Manual Dexterity: Proficiency in typing and using office equipment.Education: Undergraduate degree and Juris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited law school.Submission Requirements: An application must be accompanied by the following:(Optional but strongly encouraged) A cover letter which indicates the position of interest.A resume.The annual base salary range for this position is $130,000 to $150,000 plus bonus and benefits.LA28 is committed to operating fair and unbiased recruitment procedures allowing all applicants an equal opportunity for employment.#J-18808-Ljbffr
