Job Description: Jefferson Wells is seeking a skilled and experienced Interim Controller to join our client's team on a
part-time basis . This is a
remote position, with the potential for occasional travel to our office in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the monthly close process, generating financial statements, and consolidating financials across multiple entities.
Key Responsibilities: - Generate accurate and timely financial statements.
- Support the monthly close process from an accounting perspective, including reviewing balance sheet accounts and consolidating multiple entities.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Provide expertise in opening balance sheet and purchase accounting.
- Perform detailed financial analysis and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards.
- Collaborate with the finance team to improve financial processes and systems.
Requirements: - Proven experience in a controllership role, with a strong focus on financial statement generation and consolidation.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (macros not required).
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in healthcare finance is highly desirable but not mandatory.
Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA or equivalent professional certification is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting and controllership experience.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Familiarity with opening balance sheet and purchase accounting is highly advantageous.
