This position is Remote and is available at any of our following locations: Jacksonville, FL, Dallas, TX, San Antonio, TX, or Appleton, WI Position Summary: The Logistics Senior Director will develop our logistics strategy and manage our trucking fleet operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing our network throughout the United States, developing and deploying an optimal model to assure delivery reliability and efficiency. The incumbent will govern the operation of our internal fleet of trucks ensuring adherence to safety standards, on-time service that delights customers, maintenance schedules, and compliance with regulations. This role requires a strong leader with a strategic mindset and the ability to effectively manage a team, resources, and operational performance. The role is also responsible for continuous improvement activity relating to freight expense.
The role will work with the Dir. of Materials Management in the Building Accessories division and the Gibraltar Corporate Supply Chain.
Primary Accountabilities (Essential Duties ): - Develop and analyze key metrics for the logistics and transportation dimensions of the division. Establish goals and create tactical plans to assure targets are met in the areas of performance, quality, safety, customer satisfaction, and budget. Accountable for freight expense and on-time delivery.
- Scheduling & Route Planning: Coordinate logistics and route optimization to ensure timely deliveries aligned with customer segment requirements, minimize fuel costs, and improve operational efficiency at multiple locations.
- Fleet Management: Oversee day-to-day operations of the internal trucking fleet, ensuring vehicles are efficiently scheduled, maintained, and compliant with industry regulations. Lead domestic Freight Carrier relationships, including but not limited to cost (rates), quality (damages), and service (on time).
- Staff Supervision: Lead and manage a team of drivers and shipping supervisors at multiple facilities. Provide training, performance reviews, and support to ensure high morale and job satisfaction.
- Maintenance & Repairs: Ensure all trucks are regularly maintained and serviced. Develop and oversee preventive maintenance schedules, addressing mechanical issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure the fleet and drivers complies with all local, state, and federal regulations, including DOT (Department of Transportation) guidelines. Promote a safety-first culture and enforce safety standards for drivers and staff.
- Budget & Cost Management: Develop and manage the fleet budget, monitoring fuel expenses, maintenance costs, insurance, and other related expenses to optimize operational costs.
- Performance Monitoring: Track key performance metrics, including fuel efficiency, delivery timeliness, driver performance, and vehicle utilization. Implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Vendor & Supplier Management: Manage relationships with third-party service providers, including maintenance shops and fuel suppliers. Negotiate contracts and service agreements with Corporate Supply Chain department.
- Reporting: Prepare regular reports for senior management, detailing fleet performance, cost analysis, and any potential operational issues.
Secondary Accountabilities : - Maintain Study market trends, interview vendors, and recommend sources of supply.

Education / Experience: (an equivalent combination of education and experience required to successfully complete the primary accountabilities is indicated below) Degree: Four Year Degree
Major: Supply Chain Mgt or related business field.
Years of Experience: 10 + Years
Area: Fleet and transportation management, 3PL or corporate fleet preferred.
