Shipping/Receiving/Forklift $17.00/hour Job Summary: Responsible for shipping and receiving functions, inventory control, record keeping, as well as moving/delivering supplies, materials and equipment between departments.
Duties & Essential Job Functions: •Receives incoming shipments and compare items to work orders provided by supervisor.
•Counts items to ensure that the correct number have been received.
•Assists in physically moving incoming items to designated storage areas and supervise storage activities.
•Looks through work orders to determine order picking activities and pick orders according to the specific instructions provided.
•Operates a forklift to transport pallets and other large items, load and unload trucks.
•Determines the quality and quantity of picked items and ensures they are safely delivered to the delivery pallet.
•Assists in loading and unloading and determining safe ways of stacking/retrieving items in the truck.
•Ensures that all incoming and outgoing shipments are properly labeled and that correlating documents are available with each shipment.
•Compares the amount and identification numbers of goods against orders.
•Maintains accurate shipping record files.
•Works outside between buildings in all weather conditions.
•Performs daily safety inspections on forklifts and other moving equipment.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: - Experience with and/or licensed powered industrial truck (forklift) operator.
Physical Requirements: - Frequently lifts and moves up to 30 lbs. on a regular base; occasionally lifts and moves up to 50 lbs. independently and with the assistance of a co-worker and/or tow motor.
- Frequently moves within the department and within the plant, between multiple buildings.
- Frequently positions self to work around, finished product when counting, checking, verifying, moving, etc.
- Frequently climbs on and off of a tow motor, multiple times during their shift.
