Seats Incorporated is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Technician to be a key team member within our Manufacturing Engineering department. The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining manufacturing systems for the efficient manufacture and assembly of high quality product through use of engineering science. The Manufacturing Engineer will be involved in solving production challenges and troubleshooting while managing improvement projects. The Manufacturing Engineer will collaborate with Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Sales, Quality, Purchasing and MIS to develop and maintain manufacturing systems that accurately and efficiently produce product. This position requires occasional travel as needed.
Essential Functions
- Troubleshoot equipment and manufacturing challenges in area of focus
- Continuously seek improvements for efficiency and quality for processes in area of focus
- Ensure the efficient and high quality production of products manufactured
- Assist in quoting of new products or product improvements
- Evaluate tooling needs and implementation plan
- Evaluate tooling needs and implementation plan
- Evaluate employee change requests necessary
- Evaluate and measure production standard rates and efficiencies
- Assist in production work center layout redesign
- Assist in pre-production design critique and evaluation through participation in design reviews
- Collaborate of cross functional teams to develop and maintain DFM & DFA standards
- Assist in development of production systems and technology
- Create/Define and update process routings
- Develop and update PFMEA documentation
- Develop and update Process Flow Diagrams
- Develop and update Control Plans
- Perform Capability analyses
- Assist with MSA Studies
- Assist in production launch planning
- Effectively manage multiple projects
- Communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the organization
- Other duties as assigned
Required Education/Skills - B.S. Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Design, or related field preferred
- Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and create technical documents, engineering drawings, engineering documentation. Ability to create documents and correspondence to effectively present information, respond to questions, solve problems and justify needs
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and be self-directed on project work
- Strong mechanical aptitude with manufacturing processes experience
- Proficiency with all Microsoft Office products
- Self-motivated, demonstrated initiative, and ability to take on project leadership

Work Environment The physical environment requires the employee to work inside in an office setting as well as the manufacturing plant.
Physical Demands - Requires the employee to be seated for a portion of their workday, but may also involve standing, walking, or other movements depending on the specific tasks involved.
- Ability to repetitively lift and/or move up 10 lbs, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to stand for up to 8 hours per day
